Senior Manager - Compliance (Bengaluru)
Job Description:
o Provide Advisory, consulting and operational delivery of HR Compliance related client needs.
o Building a relationship and connecting with senior statutory authorities required to ensure challenges and concerns are addressed at the highest level for quick and timely resolution
o Responsible for all compliance related needs of identified large key accounts as a domain expert and SPOC for managing expectations
o Responding and handling various Notices from Authorities ensuring closure on the gaps
o Analyse latest changes / modifications in compliance requirements and devise corresponding action plan.
o Ensure timely audit of various statutory and social security benefits coverage; administration and compliance requirements at all client accounts and premises.
o Ensuring appropriate and relevant documentation of all case and compliance documents
o Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits for each of the key clients to proactively identify risks or challenges and put a plan to mitigate them
o Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation; Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues.
o Disseminate and bring client up-to speed with updates on policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
o Serve as a confidential point of contact for Clients / Customers to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities.
o Consult and coordinate with internal / external attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues and address issues with appropriate resolutions.
o Discuss emerging compliance issues with Client Representations and management for immediate and appropriate resolutions.
o Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorized personnel as appropriate or required;
o Design or implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards.
o Verify that all firm and regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
o Develop or implement compliance plans or programs in the areas of Stand-alone compliance specifically I the areas of PF, ESI, Wages and other benefits act as required.
o Stay abreast of trends in the Compliance space by participating in seminars, conferences, governance, policy advocacy programs etc.
o Compliances; Adherences; managing teams and completion of complex deployment projects within budget and on specific timelines.
o Managing client expectations and client engagement in terms of educating; adhering; and complying in all applicable labour and statutory laws.
o Liaisoning and managing expectations with senior government authorities.
Responsibilities:
o Conducting and overseeing reviews or audits periodically to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
o Conducting or directing the internal investigation of compliance issues.
o Informing, educating, and training employees on matters that are associated with regulations and industry practices.
o Coming up with effective plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation.
o Working cooperatively with external auditors when needed.
o Preparing appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
o Discussing importance of Compliance and responding to compliance issues and how they should be managed.
o Ensuring and verifying that all regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
Competencies:
o Domain expert in Labour & Statutory Legislation.
o Thorough advisory knowledge of various labour laws applicable at various states and union territories of India (both state and central legislations).
